Reducing the use of Map Sleeves

In the past we have provided protective plastic pockets with maps. However, every map is durable, 100% waterproof and built to last. You have told us the plastic map pockets are mainly used for storage and we feel this effectively makes them a single use plastic. Therefore, as a company, we were compelled to question the provision of these pockets.



As a result we decided not automatically to provide plastic pockets with maps ordered and sold on our website and over the telephone from April 2019.

By making this change we estimate we reduce our use of map packaging by approximately 10% and in this way we can help to reduce the materials consumed by our business.

We continue to look at innovative solutions to further reduce waste and the use of plastic in our operation and we know the work is far from complete. There is always more that can and will be done.
