Osprey Hikelite 32

If I could choose a fantastic item to get for Christmas (which isn't a squash racket!) I'd be greedy and ask for an Osprey daypack. This one in blue would be ideal. It's a great size, big enough for everything you would want to carry on a day's hike, it's ventilated, lightweight, comes with a rain cover built in and as always from Osprey, it's a great looking pack!

Rohan Mistral Insulated Jacket

I love this Rohan Mistral Insulated Jacket. It's lightweight, packable, has good three season warmth and keeps out light rain.

Qark Headtorch

Alpkit Qark Headtorch

I would also like to get my hands on the Alpkit Qark Headtorch. It's a really powerful light and has rechargeable batteries with an adjustable beam, red light mode and the flexibility to use AAA batteries while recharging the main battery.

Scott Supertrac RC 2

Scott Supertrac RC 2

The trail running shoes that I currently use are the Scott Supertrac RC 2 and I love, love, love them! They are so comfy and have the perfect amount of grip for hill running. If you're looking for a new pair of running shoes, I'd really recommend these!

Running chest light

Topward Running Chest Light

I have a second pick too! Juliet and I both bought this light recently for our night time walks. I have only tested it out during a quick walk, but the light is really bright and moveable for extra comfort and flexibility. I will be using it on my run later so I will get a feel of how much it stays put. So far, so good!

Brasher Country Master Walking Boots

The Brasher Country Master Walking Boots are a proper old-school brown leather boot. Waterproof and easy to look after, but comfortable straight out of the box. I've been using Brasher boots for years, and when my old boots finally gave out on our last survey trip I had no hesitation in getting another pair.

Deanston 12 Year Old

Deanston 12 Year Old Single Malt

As it's Christmas I think I'm entitled to pick something else I would quite like to receive! The Deanston 12-year-old single malt whisky, distilled at our local brewery of course, would be my pick. And as I'm hardly ever up a hill without my hip flask, this would be an excellent gift for me! This is what's in it at the moment - it's a fruity, malty and subtly spicy single malt whisky.

Lowe Alpine Airzone Z25 litre Daysack

I really recommend the Lowe Alpine AirZone Z25 Litre Daysack. I bought this rucksack for our last survey trip - I'd had a hard time finding a rucksack that was the right fit, the one I had previously was advertised as a women's rucksack but the fit was appalling (so many products advertised for women clearly haven't been tested on any real women, they're just smaller versions of a design for men!). But this one is fab: it's much more comfortable and doesn't cost a fortune. After a full week of walking the Wales Coast Path I had no complaints!

Merrell Moab

Merrell Moab 2 Mid GORE-TEX Boots

I love the Moab 2 Mid GORE-TEX Boots by Merrell. I bought these boots last year and they're still going strong after trekking all over Scotland in them. From hiking up the Ochil Hills at home, to more casual walks along the beaches of the east coast on holiday, they come everywhere with me. They're super comfortable, keep my feet dry, and have great grip on uneven terrain. They even come in a smaller size which is great for size 3.5 ladies like me. They look amazing with the Map-Measure-Go! Laces too, you can see them in our Reel here!

Garmin eTrex 22x

This is the eTrex 22x, I have the slightly older version (the eTrex 20), but it looks pretty much the same. Compact, rugged GPS - with a case on, I've dropped it many times and it's none the worse for wear. It's not touch screen, but the controls are easily operated even through thick gloves so it's great for winter. It can be used to download the information pages for geocaches which I've used a lot!

Montane Jacket
Juliet, Support Team Manager

Montane Women's Spirit Waterproof Jacket

I will be asking for the Montane Spirit Jacket in Saskatoon Berry this Christmas. I'm looking for a good quality jacket that is waterproof and lightweight (a bit like our maps!) and I love the Montane colours.
